Camillus Ephemera

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

Arriving yesterday afternoon, this pocket knife box became the latest item to be added to this topic or thread and to my CAMILLUS ephemera collection. It is a CAMILLUS, pattern #12220, pocket knife box. This is my first CAMILLUS pocket knife box with this type or style of label. The box itself is in FAIR+ condition with just some general wear. The label is good enough until I find another box that is in much better condition. I took some pictures and here it is. The LAST picture for comparison, is of a CAMILLUS pocket knife box, previously posted under this topic or thread by Miller Bro's, a.k.a., Dimitri.

Awesome, Skip, thanks for posting! That is an interesting box, I like the "made by American cutlers" , as well as the reference to S. & C. Wardlow rather than just crucified steel as seen on later boxes. Congratulations on a great find!

This morning, my trip to the post office produced this item.
It is a CAMILLUS CUTLERY COMPANY, 75th anniversary (1876-1951), matchbook.
It has NO matches left in it. Overall, it is in VERY GOOD condition.
That "tear" you see is actually a minor crease, magnified by the picture.

Here are two, CAMILLUS CUTLERY COMPANY postcards (fronts and backs).
The only clue to the time period that these postcards represent, is the car,
on the right side of postcard #2. Is it from the 1930's?, the 1940's?, or.....?

Recently, I bought this lot of five CAMILLUS CUTLERY COMPANY catalogs. Along with these five catalogs, also came three, dealer price lists. The price lists will be the featured items in my very next post under this topic or thread. Four of these catalogs are the large size, 8 1/2" X 11" and have a plastic, ring binder. The smaller catalog measures 4" X 9" and is stapled. The catalogs are ALL complete, intact and in EXCELLENT condition.

Great stuff Skip ! Was cool looking thru the Price Catalogs . Like taking a walk back in knife memories. Even the Retail prices seem low compared to a decent knife today.

Great additions to your collection, Skip! ::tu:: The $9.75 the 20 retailed for in January of 1979 is equivalent to $43.56 today. I'd happily give that price if they were still in production.

I received this from New_Windsor_Ny aka Skip today. It’s a 1976 American Bi-centennial/Camillus 100 year anniversary key fob. It will make a great addition to my cutlery collection.
