Re: Show Us Your Camillus Knives!
Hey guys.... can you help me with this one?
I got it in a box of parts.... The covers had gassed and almost ruined the knife.
I removed the remainder of the covers and I had this....
It is a Camillus 74....BUT....I can't seem to find a #74 in the catalogs...
It is 3 3/8" long....
Have y'all ever seen one or do you have one?
Here is what mine looks like after I added some kirinite covers....
So.... what is the deal with the #74?

Thanks Skip...
SO.... you don't have any ideas about a Camillus #74?
The catalogs (on line) skip some years so I wonder if it came and went during a time not covered by those catalogs....(???)

Re: Show Us Your Camillus Knives!
Sorry Mike, I have no information on the "74"
There is a thread on the "74" (yours) here:
https://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/kn ... 63&t=63433
But, I did previously post the picture below.
From the December 1949 Buhl Sons Company catalog.
Sorry, best I can do, but it IS a pattern #74.
Click the picture to ENLARGE.

Thanks Skip....
Yep, I remember asking this question before. But my Old Timers disease made me forget.
Thanks for posting that picture of the #74.

Re: Show Us Your Camillus Knives!
While doing some oiling and general maintenance on my older Carbon Camillus knives noticed a faint remnant of a etch on this 3 blade stockman. This Sword brand does have the Farm Bureau Committeeman etch . Did some research on the bureau thing and there are a few newer knives with the same etch . Seems like the Texas area still uses it some in there farming community. Not sure if they ( knife ) were given to certain individuals or how that works.
This is something wasn’t aware of till just recently ,and after a little bit of Sleuthing found this post by Travman . Anybody have any more info or knives pertaining to this topic ?

Just found this #22 Camillus tang stamped in three lines. Good blade snap all three ways.

Re: Show Us Your Camillus Knives!
Yep.... looks like the only difference is that yours is a serpentine pattern.
Here is one I just finished. It is a #23 that had advertising covers. I figured it needed some bone for a little dress up.
Before...
Then.... after a new set of covers.....
These are some hefty knives..... large and in charge.

A co worker found this little jack for me today at a TSA sale. Camillus 24 with what I have googled is NuPearl covers? Any idea to what year/years is was made? 1980's perhaps? Thanks.

I was thinking the stamp is from the 50's or 60's or there about. I don't see it on the tang stamp page. So, what year would this one have been made? ?

Maybe as early as late 1945 but 1946 or 47 for sure. I guess this should be included on the tang stamp page.
Re: Show Us Your Camillus Knives!
Based on the pins and long pull could be mid ,or a little earlier , 70 s ? Not positive about these in this period but you’re pretty close with your deduction . NuPearl covers is correct . Thank you Ripster! Appreciate the info. It's a good little knife, kinda small for my taste, but I'm happy to have it. Well built and solid with great snap.Ripster wrote: ↑Tue Dec 06, 2022 11:56 pmBased on the pins and long pull could be mid ,or a little earlier , 70 s ?
