Stockman Shield
Anyone have a good nickel-silver stockman shield? This is a 4”, square bolstered, long pull Camillus made stockman. 40’s or 50’s vintage. I’m thinking a crest shield, but would entertain other ideas.

My inventory of surplus shields if you can use any of them.

Why ruin an excellent knife? If it didn't have a shield originally, why install one now?
Re: Stockman Shield
It would take collector value away would think ? It would look good with some jewelry ( shield ) on it if that’s what you like . It’s worth more without the shield as do feel they are harder to come by . Like the #72 without shields ,lot harder to find by a long shot .
Sure is a dandy looking piece

It’s a matter of preference, and I am the collector. I see preferences both ways, I just happen to like shields on certain pocket knives. I am not thinking of it as a value decision. No shield is for the pile side! Certainly shields do not ruin knives. Appreciate the replies.

I haven’t pulled the trigger yet, but this is what I am thinking for my knives.

Great choice of the different shield patterns for the different knife patterns. Really good visual with the 2 pics . It does dress them up nicely .
