Show Us Your Camillus Knives!

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

This electrician's knife (pretty sure it's a 27) got to me recently. It will be an occasional carrier. Thanks to GSPTOPDOG for this one!

Added a couple to my Camillus family today.
First, another Camillus 21 Pony Jack.2-13/16 inches closed, It has the long line Camillus tang stamp on the front side of the clip blade, with 21 on the pile side with a pen secondary blade. It has the brown jigged( what Camillus called "Brownstag") handles, and was not produced with a shield. Blades are tight, great snap, no wobble, have the factory luster, but does have some spotting. Inside of blade well and springs are clean. The only thing I've done is oil the joints. Here are the photos.

I also added a Camillus 14 Serpentine Jack. It is also has the Camillus long line tang stamp on the front side of the clip blade with 14 on the pile side, with a pen secondary blade. The blades are tight, no wobble, and great snap. They have the original luster, but do have some staining and spots. The Handles are the Brownstag handles with a federal shield. The handles do have some slight oxidation, but I believe I can cure that with the usual warm mineral oil soak. Inside the blade well is clean with just some slight spotting on the springs. At the present time all I've done is oil the joints. Here are the photos.

Nice!

Those things are addicting. I started with just a Colonial my Granddad gave me, as well as a 1980s Camillus, the first knife I bought online when I was 17. At last count, I had one each in my toolboxes, one in my compact toolkit, several users (not all Camillus), and a Craftsman (which I think is Camillus-made) 9560 and a WWII era TL-29 in the collection. This doesn't count Schrade versions, as well as assorted others like a Colonial.

I still need to add Xcelite (there's also a tang-stamped "XCELITE" version) and the two Channellock versions (there's both the typical black, as well as a sort of rare Channellock Blue handle version; which I've seen exactly ONE of).

added a couple more to my Camillus family. Both came with the boxes, original papers, and sleeve. One is a 1997 Camillus Rimfire Classic 22LR6 Carpenters Whittler (a 72 Clone) and has delrin handles with the .22 rimfire brass shield. Next is a 1995 Camillus Rimfire Classic 22LR4 Muskrat, same handles same shield. Both have the Rimfire Classic etch on the master blades and the pattern number and year on the pile side tang of the master blade.
