Show Us Your Camillus Knives!

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

Charlie you made two great funnies. I laughed at both. Very witty! I love it. Not only wonderful knives but a great sense of humor as well. ::tounge:: ::handshake::

Picked these two up at a show. 81 and 69. Both Etched De Luxe Stock knives. Both bone. The 81 with the reddish bone is a later made knife in the 60's I believe. Some of the last before they went to Delrin.

That 69 is a beauty! I came close on one a month or so ago but while looking at the extra pics I asked for someone beat me to it. I've become very selective with my knife purchases over the last few months but am always on the lookout for a nice bone 69.

Does yours have the coined liner and fancy backspring spacer?

Here are the two Camillus Knives I own right now. I've just purchased a third from Millstom78 that I'll show when it arrives.
The first is a US M4 First Production WWII, knife bayonet produced by Camillus Cutlery Co, for use on the caliber .30 U.S. Carbine M1

The second is a Camillus US Army Knife from 1975 (Vietnam Era)

Hey Guys, Thought I would post my Sword Brand Camillus Cotton Sampler. As most of you know I use to collect antique cotton samplers. This is the only one I ever found by Camillus. Have any of you seen this pattern before in Camillus? What date would you put on this knife.
Thanks guys,
Mark

When my Grandpa passed away about 9yrs ago, He had this Tape Measure among his things. I could think of no better person to have this tape measure than Mr. Greg Cobb so I gifted it to him. For those of you who dont know Mr. Cobb, He is one heck of a Knife guy, A Collector of ALL Camillus stuff & a WONDERFUL Person. He put the tape measure on Display with his other Memorabilia in Camillus NY.

I hope no one minds me adding this TAPE MEASURE to the CAMILLUS Forum even though its not a knife, I dont know where else to post it.
Kind Regards,
Mark

I don't remember ever seeing that exact tang stamp before either. The Sword Brand knives I have (only a couple) have the Camillus tang stamp and Sword Brand etched on the master blade. According to Goins Camillus used a Sword Brand tang stamp in 1906 but it doesn't appear to match the one you have.

There is a very similar knife called a maize knife and listed as a #2 in the 1946 Camillus catalog but there is no association with the Sword Brand stamp.
Check the link below:

http://www.collectors-of-camillus.us/Ca ... talogs.htm

Hope this helps.....

That is Awesome guys!!! That #2 is certainly very similar to mine huh. My knife has a lanyard hole & different stamping but basically it sure does look the same. Isn't this FUN FUN & what collecting/buying/trading/selling knives is all about, It surely is for me
I will also look closer at my stamping because I didnt realize it was different than other Sword Brand stamps. Maybe we can put a side by side picture comparison & add this stamping to the known stamps that exist for Camillus, I will work on this
Kindest Regards,
Mark
