Show Us Your Camillus Knives!

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

I don't use my name either. If people ever found out that D.B. Cooper is a Sasquach it'd make both puzzles too easy! ::rotflol::

NWNY, I'll call you anything you like except Susie, she broke my heart at age 14 and I've never fully recovered! ::rotflol::

Here's a little Camco jack with dark brown Delrin (I think) scales. I found it in one of my Dad's old tool boxes after he passed. I'm guessing that it dates from the 60s but don't know for sure.

I didn't even notice. I'm the one who was wrong here. I've got to learn to count to ten, take a deep breath and let things slide.
My little "outburst" was not directed at anyone on this site, forum, thread or topic. It was completely unrelated. Again, I'm very sorry. I would say it won't happen again, but.......
Anyway, back to knives.

And what better way to get back to knives than with a Camillus #53. This is my third one and only the 4th one I've seen and my first with the pattern number stamped on it. My experience with these so far is they were used and loved to death. This particular one has no snap. Well the main blade will snap if the pen blade is completely open, otherwise both blades have to be pushed closed. Never the less, I'm happy to have it and the price was rock bottom.

Indeed. Nice 53 Jerry.

The Camco I posted a little earlier also has no snap. The number stamped on the pile side of the master blade is 511. Also, I said dark brown handle, now while looking in brighter light, the scales are black. As I said I found it in one of my Dad's old tool boxes. Looks like he used it hard and it had rusted quite a bit laying in that tool box until I found it. I did some minimal cleaning and added it to the Camillus section. Any idea how to date it?

Dating Camillus (or Camco) knives is a tricky proposition at best. Sometimes pictures of the knife will help, sometimes not.
