Let's See Your Camco Knives!

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

Just googled the place and menu! Wow!! Seafood galore!! 30 cent a glass wine and a bottle of champagne would set you back $4.50!! Cool place, cool history and cool little knife Skip! That's half the fun of our little hobby is the research! Have a good evening!! :)

This is my one and only Camco 521, that I have owned since probably before 1960. It's not a great knife, but it's by far the prettiest.
Sorry for the glare on the photos.

Have a blessed day,

Leon

I recently received this Camco 751 two blade jack knife. The Delrin handles are in good shape. Both blades have good snap. Just needs some cleaning. When I get the time I’m going to give it a bath in the ultrasonic cleaner and give her a lube job. I have to say that I really like this knife! It will definitely be part of my EDC rotation!

No, J.O', a 23 has a 4 1/4" frame. A much more substantial knife. ::tu::

Ok. Thanks. I have a couple but didn't bother to measure them. Thought the Camco might be an adaptation on the platform. You're right, those 23's are beefy. I have an ORR FELT & BLANKET and a plain one. I've seen Camco knives that were pretty good quality and some that live up to their price point.
Just adds to the variety of collecting. O'.

I have seen those with felt ads quite regularly--I suspect it was a "cheap" version of the 23, also a bit smaller.

However, at 3 11/16" closed, it's not a small knife, so I plan to pick up one soon.

The Camco knife I'm showing is a great knife although the main spring is a little soft.
No wobble at all on either blade. It's a nice carry for me. ::nod::

Cody, The ' "ORR FELT" I have is 4-3/16" and pretty beefy. Nice ,tight, and heavy blades, no wobble. Doesn't appear different from others I've seen except for the handles. Can't find the other one but I think it's handles are French Ivory ? If it's the cheap one the better one must be something. ::handshake:: J.O'.

I just found this at an antique store. I paid $12 for it, it had a decent edge when I bought it.. I would love to know more about it if someone knows where to look. I do live in Ann Arbor mich.

Nice find! I wouldn't have left it there, either. It's a little cap-lifter jack; that much is obvious. I'm guessing it's around 3.25 inches long? I have one that's similar, but not nearly as nice. Keep an eye on the covers, as they may be celluloid. By the way, I live close by you, in the Detroit area.

I obtained this pocket knife back in March, 2021. At the time, it was my first and only CAMCO pocket knife. It was just one pocket knife that was in a group or lot of pocket knives that I bought. I did NOT buy the group or lot for this particular pocket knife. It is a CAMCO, one blade, one tool, one tang stamp, two springs, pocket knife. The tang stamp says "CAMCO (curved or arched) - USA" This pocket knife has issues. It is missing the pivot end mini bolsters and that causes the blade and the tool to have BAD wobble. It has tiny cracks in the handles at the pivot pins. It appears to have had some kind of lettering or advertising on the handle, but it can not be read now. Here are some pictures of it.
