Awesome addition Skip. Beautiful handles!!New_Windsor_NY wrote: ↑Mon May 24, 2021 9:11 pm This afternoon, this pocket knife got added to my collection. It's a CAMILLUS 72, 3 blade, swelled center, 3 5/8" closed, short line tang stamp, 2nd generation, "whittler" pocket knife. It needed very little cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

Re: camillus #72
By no means a beauty queen, but another good addition for my 72 carry lot. I picked this one up in a local Collectible Consignment shop last week. It did have some rust on it, bolsters had black stains and needed cleaning inside. So I had to do some cleaning. It is a 72 Carpenters Whittler with the Long Line Italic Camillus tang stamp, so puts it in the Late 70's to late 80's production range. This is actually only the second Italic tang stamp 72 I have found. Good news is the blades are full, have great snap, and handles are tight, no cracks but do have some fading. Of course has pitting from the rust on the blades, but will give it pocket time.

The Italic tang stamp versions can not be considered rare but still they don't pop up all that often. Great snag Smitty.
