camillus #72

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

Hey JP I missed out on the white handled 1047. I came back to this thread a little too late... ::facepalm::

I found an unused display case in my closet today and gave most of my 72 collection a new home.

Very nice Display Case ,and nice collection ::tu::
Like to use the glass covered case as well, been getting them on Sale at Hobby Lobby .
That Bone short line is a dandy and 30 bucks well Done ::nod:: ::nod::
It also has no shield and don’t see many that way. I just have 2 with no shield . We have a thread here somewhere about the No Shield 72 s . Don’t think there’s been but a handful of them posted. If you would check it out and post it there would appreciate it. Do feel they’re getting hard to find without the typical Camillus Shield . Thanks for sharing ::handshake::
Take Care over there.

This short line with bone handles and no shield just got in. I love those bones! No 72 on the pile side master blade. Is this an early 1047?

It is a 2nd generation 72. Not sure it is a 1047. Is there an etch on the blade? A great knife for sure. ::tu:: ::nod::

Those are some great 72s y’all are showing.

I don’t have anything new to show, but here’s my edc doing what it was intended to do, work in the wood shop. I had to cut a piece of double sided tape for a shim. (That’s not blood btw, that’s the label on the tape lol).

Thanks Ripster! But I must apologize for the confusion. ::facepalm:: The last knife is the same one I posted before. Earlier pics were the sellers that last five I took after it came in the mail. Although I would certainly love to have a second one! Now back to the hunt for more short line 72s. Hmmm I think I need a black one... ::super_happy::

There’s a few 72 black long lines here on the forum still for sale, think Steve P.has some ? Will look might have a extra short line somewhere that’s the black composite that looks like bone but isn’t . Is that the one you’re looking for? Or the black bone ,which isn’t easy to find in the 72 I don’t believe ::hmm:: Take care over there .

I have a long line one coming from Steve. ::tu:: But a short line in either black handle would awesome to have! ::nod::
I’m going to have to go back and look at some of my older posts to see what I used to have. I had a bunch of 72s. But had to sell them. I don’t remember if there were any black ones though.
