Whoa....that's a sweetie right there J.P. Congrats!!Ripster wrote: ↑Thu Feb 25, 2021 2:53 pm Morning all, here’s a couple of pics of my latest. This came as a surprise in a package of knives that bought from Roland . It’s in solid shape, very well built, swedges on both blades. A few scratches on the blades , may buff out but think will leave them for now.
Great thread here
Ridge, that’s a nice pair you got there ! This forum sure is helpful, and gets a guy going again digging thru and finding these small gems .
Thanks to all here ,take care, stay safe

Thank you FRJ,Skip and Smitty . Been looking for more of these, and trying to learn more about the Stainless Steel history in Cutlery. It wasn’t accepted at all at first,my Gramps mentioned more than once his Dad and Uncles didn’t like it and thought it a fad !
Have a good one out there

The reason Stainless Cutlery Co knives are so well made is that Camillus wanted to convert people who thought that stainless steel could not be a good knife blade steel. Hence every aspect of these knives is top quality so that the 'doubters' would not find anything they could complain about as being 'inferior'.

No idea, I suppose there is a large number of possibilities. When I first saw it, I immediately thought, (not a serious thought), Chicago Transit Authority.Ripster wrote: ↑Sun Jan 09, 2022 8:00 pmIke my Friend you amaze me lately with the knives you’ve been posting . Can run with that ,what the heck . A Quick google brings it up as that .Not sure if they would have done it in the 1920 s to 40 s though what with the depression and all the Gangsters Chicago has then and now .Waukonda wrote: ↑Sun Jan 09, 2022 8:11 pmNo idea, I suppose there is a large number of possibilities. That is unusual indeed! I've never seen one stamped with the Sears brand like that. Great pick jp!

Good point, Greg.
I never made that connection. I had to look that stamp up.
And of course they got their stamp on the mark side and moved Stainless Cutlery to the back.

Thanks fellas. Also thought it different with the two Stamps combined but Sta Sharp on the mark side . And no Stainless shield stamp which thought was unusual as well .
