My Latest Camillus Cousins

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

My Latest Camillus Cousins

Post by New_Windsor_NY »

Just picked up and added these two Camillus cousins (the first 4 pictures) to the family (the last 2 pictures).
A 1047 and a 72. I can't get enough of either of them. :D

Congrats N W NY. Two great little pick ups. Useful little (medium) knives that deserve to be carried. Keep an eye out, there are other variations. Thanks for the pics. ::tu:: ::handshake::

Thanks doglegg. I am aware of the many variations on this pattern number. I have my sights set on a Schrade 863 as my next acquisition (your Herman Williams is a beauty!). After that, who knows what's next. ::tu::

Abandon all hope, ye who enter here.

I guess that could be said about any knife/brand/pattern but from personal experience I know it's especially germane to the search for and collection of Camillus 72/1047 and clones. I wish you the best of luck (and deep pockets) with your endeavor. Patience grasshopper.

PS: Very nice start. ::tu::

More like a distant cousin, I literally just won this Ulster 63. Should be in the mail to me tomorrow, Monday. This is my first, non-Camillus, Camillus 72 variation that I've obtained. Only obvious "issue" is that the shield is gone. I am going to try and come up with something nice to fill the shield space with. I will post the pictures when I'm done (In the Knife Lore forum). Here is what it looks like now. The pictures are the seller's. Click here to view: viewtopic.php?f=35&p=744666#p744666

Awesome knives you have. They look like they are mint condition. I am a huge fan of Camillus, at least before they were bought out. Camillus NY produced great knives at decent prices. They made knives under contract for many other companies as well. Shame that they are gone.
