Camillus 72 Clones

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

Here’s a couple that I enjoy having and am posting here .
The Stanley Sl 6 ,bought this from fellow member. Nice tight knife.
The 22 LR 6 1977 w/ Rimfire etch ! This one am posting here as a gray area knife. Did post it in the 72 thread ,and will leave it at that . Got it off the bay and there was a lot of bidding on this one. Really like this one and been thinking about getting bone put on it and carrying it !
That’s it from my little corner of the valley here . Take care,catch you later ::tu::

This afternoon, I added this CAMILLUS 72 variation to my collection. It is a CAMILLUS 1047, 3 blade, swelled center, 3 5/8" closed, Scout "whittler" pocket knife. It's missing the shield. It needed some minor cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

I was waiting for a "1047" to come along without a shield.
I want to put my own "shield" on it. The bottom of a spent
9MM or .357 cartridge fits perfectly. I'm kicking around other
ideas also. ::shrug::

Received this one in the mail yesterday. Another addition to my 72 Clone Family. It was a El Cheapo at $15 and needed some cleaning. It's a Powr-Kraft 84-11. Had to do the usual warm oil soak, then cleaned the blades. The Master Clip has Weak Snap, which is an improvement, it had none when I got it. The secondary small clip and coping blade have great snap. The handles were oxidized, but brushed them with an old tooth brush while in the warm mineral oil soak, and again with dishwashing liquid and warm water before cleaning up the blades. I think it turned out well, and will be a good addition to my EDC 72 clones. Below are some before and after photos.

This afternoon, this pocket knife became the latest CAMILLUS 72 variation/clone to join my collection. It's another REMINGTON R14, 3 blades, swelled center, etched main blade, 3 5/8" closed, wood handles "whittler" pocket knife. This is my 11th REMINGTON R14 pocket knife, but only my 2nd with wood handles. It's in Near Mint condition and no cleaning was necessary. I took some pictures and here it is.

I received this one in the mail today. A 1997 Camillus Rimfire Classic 22LR6 Carpenters Whittler. It came like new in the box, with the original papers, 22 Rimfire pamplet, and original sleeve the knife came in. It has the double line Camillus tang stamp on the mark side of the Clip blade, with 22LR6 over 1997 on the pile side tang of the clip blade. It has the Rimfire Classic etch on the clip blade and the brass rimfire shield on the handle. It is like new, no wear on the blades and great snap. I purchased this as part of a two knife lot, the second one being a 1995 Camillus Rimfire Classic 22LR4 Muskrat. Here are some photos.
