Camillus 72 Clones

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

I have rehandled a couple of 1047's. The bottom two in this pic. The very bottom is ebony and the one above it is deer antler tine. I like both but the ebony really rocks! ::tu::
::tu:: ::tu:: Great Job Randy. I agree, the ebony handle looks great!!

Yesterday afternoon, this CAMILLUS 72 variation/clone joined my collection. It is a CAMILLUS (1047), 3 blades, a swelled center, white handles, a long line tang stamp, no pattern # stamp, 3 5/8" closed, Boy Scout "whittler" pocket knife. This is only my second CAMILLUS (1047) that has white handles. Two of the blades are a little rough, but it isn't a major concern. It did need some very minor cleaning. But more importantly, there are NO CRACKS anywhere on the handles. I took some pictures and here it is.

Nice addition Skip! ...
::hmm:: I also have at least two Craftsman knives that have the shield missing as well, probably a common problem with the adhesive

I guess I got lucky for once. None of my Sears 9494's have lost their shield.

I have a rather rare beauty here. It's a Sears 9494 with bone handles in fair decent condition.

I've been away from AAPK a couple of weeks, catching up on the posts. Some nice finds you guys been posting. Couple of weeks ago I picked up a few, last week I had to go to the doc, wound up with Bronchitis. Finally got over it Saturday. So just now catching up and posting some finds. Here are some of 72 clones I picked up week before last.

First a Remington R14. Got this one because it doesn't have the Remington etch on the Master Clip blade, and because it has a different coloration of the delrin handles. Great snap and no wobble on all blades, original finish, with a few scratches on the blades. Here are some pics, I've included one as a comparison with the other delrin R14 I have.

Next is a Imperial Scout Whittler, with the silver colored shield. Minimum shrinkage of the handles, great snap on all blades, still has the original luster on the blades, but does have some scratches, but shows no signs of abuse. It also has the original box with insert, and yes has the name "Billy" written on the box.

Lastly, I picked this one up in a sports card collectibles shop near me. Fortunate for me, the guy deals mainly in Sports cards, Comic Books, and Diecast car collectibles, and only had a $20 price tag on this one. It is a Camillus 1047 Scout Whittler, except has a unique Master Clip tang stamp. It has Craftsman U.S.A. with the model number 95234. According to the handles and round BSA shield, I believe it was a 1980's or 90's era Camillus. Could be one of the end of days produced knives. Great snap on all blades, and shows no signs of being on a stone.

Nice knives Smitty. Don’t see many of those Imperials. Love the colors on those Remingtons ::tu:: I agree that the one with the Craftsman main could be an end of days knife. Great finds. ::nod::

Hey Smitty. Really good to see you back here .
Nice pile o Clones . That Craftsman blade must be a end of days piece like you guys have mentioned
The Imperial ,new in box , with paperwork is a very nice addition .
Well played . Take care down there .
Picked up a couple of Schrade Walden 863 s to add to the pile . The bone handled one has been used a bit . Grabbed it because of the bone . Did Schrade Walden do bone covers during a specific time frame? Also one has Saber ground main and the other one doesn’t .Don’t know much about this manufacturer .
Take care out there and stay warm.
