The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

......the earlier post may not be 100% correct-we are having work done on the house and the room where my knives are is piled up with stuff and I can't see all of my knives!!!.................... ....................
Tommy, I edited/updated my previous post with the pictures (lower page 22). I believe that you are correct and that I
am mistaken. Someone needs to bring that Camillus shield chart up to date.
I still don't think that the knife in question was made by Camillus. Something about it just doesn't lk right.

Skip. It does look like glue around the shield. I bought the knife just like it is. But I took a closr up picture of the shield for you. Could it have fallen off and someone regluid it?

Hi Kevin. It's possible I suppose, but I'm guessing that it never had a shield to begin with. Is the shield sitting on top of the handle or is it set level in the handle? It's up to you of course, but I would try to carefully remove the shield and see what's under it. You can always glue it back on and do a better job of it. The knife looks like it may be missing a pin also.
Out of All my Camillus 72 variations (55), only one has a shield shaped like yours. It is a HOLLINGER and you can view it here: viewtopic.php?f=63&t=62956&p=776431&hil ... er#p776431

Hi Skip. Had a long day at work. Just got home. The shield is sitting flush with the handle. Not sticking up at all. Your Hollinger is a beauty. I better not mess with the shield. I wouldn't know what I was doing and I like the old knife like it is. It's just a user. I put it to hard use at work yesterday. It's a great user. Snaps very well on all blades. Thank you for all your responses. I appreciate you and Tommy and Jerry!!

Looks great Skip! Congratulations on an interesting find.
Thank you Tom, but it's not my knife. The latest knife posted belongs to
woodwalker.

Today, this piece of cutlery arrived and will join my Camillus 72 variation collection.
A SCHRADE WALDEN 863, 3 blade, swelled center, "whittler" pocket knife.
The main blade has KON-KAV etched on it. I'm pretty sure that I have all the 863s now.
It didn't need any cleaning at all. I took some pictures and here they are.

I purchased this knife today. A Camillus 72, 3 blade (ducks etched on main blade), swelled center, black bone handles, "whittler" pocket knife. Yes, it is a variation of a Camillus 72. I now have two thirds of the Camillus 72, "black bone handles" trio. It looks like it's in GREAT condition and won't need any cleaning at all. When I receive it, pictures will be taken and posted in the appropriate location(s).

That's a BEAUTY Skip! You go!!
Thank you.
You should post the question(s) about your "72" variation in the Schrade forum
I think you may get some answers there. Won't hurt to give it a shot.

This knife will soon be joining the Camillus 72 variation family. Another SCHRADE WALDEN 863, 3 blade, swelled center, "whittler" pocket knife. The shield is missing. It'll get the once over when I receive it. I will take some pictures and post them in the appropriate location(s).

Today I'm adding this knife to my Camillus 72 variation collection. A Camillus 72, 3 blade (ducks etched on the main blade), swelled center, black bone handles, "whittler" pocket knife. It is in near mint condition and required no cleaning at all. I took some pictures and here they are.
