Camillus Post-Schrade?

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

Camillus Post-Schrade?

Post by cody6268 »

Some time ago (I didn't buy it, shape was not mint--and etch stamp was almost gone) I saw what appeared to be a Schrade SP-2. But get this--it had no tang stamp, and was etched on the tang was the late Camillus tang stamp of the late '80s-2008.

So, did Camillus buy some Schrade parts, and assemble knives from those parts, or did they make the SP-2 in the first place?

I can't speak to the SP-2 specifically but Camillus and Imperial Schrade Corporation were owned by the same man, Albert Baer.
Camillus definitely made complete knives for Schrade as well many parts.
