Which Camillus EO is older?

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

Which Camillus EO is older?

Post by woodwalker »

I bought this long pull Camillus EO today at my local antique store. I have had the bottom one for a while, the one with the bail. The one with the long pull has 33 on the back of the master. The one with the bail does not. Which one is older? The one with the bail is a 4 line stamp. The one with the long pull looks like a 3 line stamp. Any help would be appreciated. :)

Hi Kevin. VERY nice knives. ::tu:: I believe the one with the bail, the one with the 4 line tang stamp, is the older of the two knives. Here is a link to Camillus tang stamps. While not 100% accurate, definitely in the ballpark.

Thanks Floyd! I was very happy to have found it today! My jaw hit the floor when I seen it under glass and I could not pull my wallet out fast enough at 6 bucks! :)

Definitely the 4 line tang stamp is older.
The 33 pattern is in the 1946 catalog.
