Camillus #72's From the 1950's in Original Wrappers

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

Camillus #72's From the 1950's in Original Wrappers

Post by knifeaholic »

Just picked up this lot of five Camillus 72 pattern knives.

I am guessing 1950's to early 60's on these since the handles are the jigged black composition.

Mint with factory oil, in original cellophane wrappers.

These are the first vintage Camillus pocket knives that I have ever seen with this type of printed cellophane wrapper (I have had Schrade Walden knives with Schrade wrappers like these).

More likely the very late '50s or early '60s with that long line tang stamp and the black synthetic handles. Great capture.
