72 Clone list help,updating

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

72 Clone list help,updating

Post by Ripster »

Hey folks , been trying over the last year to get a more recent list of 72 clones . Some of you put together the list in pic, I have made notes and have more on another page . Am not striving for perfection or Every variation of every Clone,but the more complete list would be nice . Some of my notes may or may not be accurate. Would appreciate any help with this ,and am willing to research if you have a guestion . If anyone has a more recent or more comprehensive list and is willing to share ,would be grateful.

A nice idea JP. ::tu::
But, speaking for MYSELF, I don't use a list.
I just use the three main criteria for variations/clones.
It has to have a swelled center.
It has to have the particular, 3 blade configuration.
It has to be 3 5/8" in length, closed.
What the country of origin is, what company actually manufactured it,
or what is on the shield and/or tang stamp, is of no concern to me.
JP, this is NOT criticism, this is just how I look for them.
When you're done, that list will be pretty long, but comprehensive.
Good for you.🍻

All good , do agree with your criteria. It’s all part of my research and helps me to remember what to type when doing a search.
Stay warm out there. ::tu::

Thought I would post this here. Another Camillus 72 Clone to add to the list. This is something I found in a 1969 Maher and Grosh Catalog.

It is listed as a No. 808 3-5/8" Old Whittler
