72 Camillus WITHOUT shield

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

Thanks Smitty. I'm infatuated with it. If I remember correctly, I got it from Ozzie Marie at the Janesville, WI show a bunch of years ago.

I plucked this short line no shield out off the Bay this morning. 30 bucks, what a steal! The pile side is not marked 72. A 1047 perhaps?

From what have gathered from posts here and elsewhere that’s a early 1047 as you say .
That Frame and the bone Camillus used in the late 40 s early 50 s go so well together. You did well there Randy ::tu:: ::tu::

That no shield short line arrived on Friday! ::ds:: Here are some better pics! This one does not have a 72 on the pile side. I looked close to see if there were any sign of a Boy Scout etch but found nothing. So until I know better I'm considering it a possible 1047.
