Re: 72 Camillus WITHOUT shield
That’s a beautiful piece
As JerryD said, “ That bone is Something to write home about” . Just a perfect example of Camillus in there prime ,I feel they made the best bone around the Cutlery industry for years!!!
Grant , those last 2 you posted are truly a Camillus collectors grail ,at least this guy thinks so .
Thanks everyone that’s been supportive of this thread , been a good run. Maybe we’ll see more without shields .

Re: 72 Camillus WITHOUT shield
Thanks Smitty. I'm infatuated with it. If I remember correctly, I got it from Ozzie Marie at the Janesville, WI show a bunch of years ago.

In my case if you didn’t have it to lose in the first place....... you don’t know any difference.

Re: 72 Camillus WITHOUT shield
I plucked this short line no shield out off the Bay this morning. 30 bucks, what a steal! The pile side is not marked 72. A 1047 perhaps?
I can't wait for it to get here!

Re: 72 Camillus WITHOUT shield
Thank you for posting that bone handled beauty here .And 30 bucks is a very good deal .
From what have gathered from posts here and elsewhere that’s a early 1047 as you say .
That Frame and the bone Camillus used in the late 40 s early 50 s go so well together. You did well there Randy

Very sweet Randy.
Re: 72 Camillus WITHOUT shield
That no shield short line arrived on Friday! Here are some better pics! This one does not have a 72 on the pile side. I looked close to see if there were any sign of a Boy Scout etch but found nothing. So until I know better I'm considering it a possible 1047.
