What an outstanding bunch!
The OP still shows as being a member. I have no idea what happened to the photo.1967redrider wrote: ↑Fri Mar 10, 2023 1:50 pm OP knife picture??? Anyone??? Or was the original thread creater removed???

Thanks, Dan. I was playing catch-up on this thread and it wasn't making sense to me.

WW2 US Army Signal Corps TE-33 Tool Kit, which includes a Camillus TL-29 knife, Utica TL-13 pliers and a CS-34 leather pouch.
Re: Electrician/Lineman Knife, but which one?
Very nice set ! Nice original pieces Did they have a green canvas pouch for the TE - 33 tool kit ? It seems they had one that “ hung “on the web gear belt .

Re: Electrician/Lineman Knife, but which one?
They did have a green one. It is canvas but it is impregnated with something. Its very hard like fiberglass. I believe it is VN era. I’ll get a picture of mine tomorrow.
Re: Electrician/Lineman Knife, but which one?
Thank you Sir . That’s the one . Had heard they had better luck we these not rotting in a damp environment like the leather did .
Have a good weekend out there .

Re: Electrician/Lineman Knife, but which one?
I definitely believe that it lasted longer in wet environments. It looks like canvas but the body is very hard, i think they dipped it in fiberglass resin. The flap is slightly more flexible, but still impregnated with something. Very difficult to get the tools in their spots. Definitely jungle proof.
Re: Electrician/Lineman Knife, but which one?
It’s been said by more than one collector that the Canvas was a Vietnam era thing but Mr. Silvey has stated something different in his book .eveled wrote: ↑Sat Mar 11, 2023 5:16 amThey did have a green one. That is very interesting . Thanks for the correction. The last thing I want to do is spread misinformation.
It makes sense. A lot of ww2 stuff was still being used in the VN era.
