Re: Imperial Mexico
Today I added this pocket knife to my "South Of The Border" collection. This is my first and only (so far), IMPERIAL MEXICO "CUCHILLERIA", 2 blade, "Deer Handle" pocket knife. It measures 3 7/8" closed, not including the bail. This knife "brand" is part of the Imperial and Colonial, Mexico story/connection. It needed a good cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

Re: Imperial Mexico
None of these are easy to find but the Cuchillerias are scarcer than the others - congrats on a great addition! There's another tang stamp on these that you don't see often (I've only seen two), 'Dos Ciervos'. I think that one is from the days when Associated owned Imperial Mexico. How many of these Hechos are you up to now? Would love to see a group shot sometime.New_Windsor_NY wrote: ↑Thu Dec 24, 2020 11:16 pmThis is my first and only (so far), IMPERIAL MEXICO "CUCHILLERIA", 2 blade, "Deer Handle" pocket knife. Re: Imperial Mexico
Hi Jason. Since your last visit on October 18, I've added and posted 8 various pocket knives in my "South Of The Border" collection. That's including the "CUCHILLERIA" posted above. I'm planning a family reunion and some family portraits on May 5, 2021 (Cinco De Mayo). Thanks for checking in.

Yesterday I added this pocket knife to my "South Of The Border" familia. It's another PASTOR ALEMAN (German Shepherd), 2 blade with bottle opener/cap lifter, pocket knife. It has a "deer head" on each handle. It measures 3 7/8" closed, not including the bail. This knife "brand" is part of the Imperial and Colonial, Mexico story/connection. It needed a bit of cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

Today this pocket knife becomes my most recent addition to my "South Of The Border" collection. It's a PASTOR ALEMAN (German Shepherd), 3 blade, 4 tool, scouting/camping style pocket knife. It has two tang stamps. This knife "brand" is part of the Imperial and Colonial, Mexico story/connection. It needed cleaning. I did what I could, I took some pictures and here it is.

Re: Imperial Mexico
Mine's set up a little different - no scaler, but it got a bale and cork screw. The other SAK (MAK?) is kind of neat, it's the only knife I've seen with that tang stamp. CUCHILLERIA / IMPERIAL / MEXICO

Re: Imperial Mexico
Those are in FANTASTIC condition Jason.

The multi-tools that I have are all set up differently.

You'll see them ALL at the Cinco de Mayo reunion.
(unless you go page by page and look at them)
As far as the "odd" tang stamp, you missed this somehow.

Even worse....I have a couple on the shelf with that stamp and included it in the article. Pardon my broken brain, it's having an 'off' day.New_Windsor_NY wrote: ↑Wed Feb 03, 2021 7:39 pm As far as the "odd" tang stamp, you missed this somehow.

Re: Imperial Mexico
Interesting thread...Skip asked me to post photos of these two knives. They are part of my "folding knives of the world" collection (I have 51 different countries so far).
The tiny guy (about 1-1/2" long) says "Made in Mexico", interestingly enough, so presumably for export. The other one is similar to several I see earlier in this thread.

Re: Imperial Mexico
Today I add this pocket knife to my "South Of The Border" collection. This pocket knife "brand" is part of the Imperial and Colonial, Mexico story/connection. But this specific "brand" of pocket knife does NOT make an appearance that often. The only other example of this particular pocket knife that I've seen, so far, is a picture of the one that Jason (jxr1197) has. It's a PM ATLAS, 2 blade with cap lifter/bottle opener, horses on the handles, pocket knife. It has a bail also. PM ATLAS is etched/stamped into the cap lifter/bottle opener part/tang of the blade. Although it really doesn't look it, the main color of the handles is a dark blue. It required very little cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

jxr1197 wrote: ↑Sun May 31, 2020 1:38 am PM Atlas (Productos Metalicos Atlas - or Atlas Metal Products) was a business in Monterrey MX that bought knives either from the Associated Spring version of Imperial Mexico or from Cuchilleria Monterrey, maybe both. All of the ones I have come across either have a horse or a deer on them.

Re: Imperial Mexico
It's the only one I've ever seen. They trademarked the name in Mexico in 1947 but I don't believe they ever used it. This one comes from the Imperial sample room in Providence. The 'O' is rubbed off the end - it's Marca Martillo, or Hammer Brand in Spanish.
