What is Your Latest Old Schrade?

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

I snagged this Primble 934 Old Timer out of the bay last weekend.

It isn't in too bad of a shape. It should clean up pretty nice.

Well....
I just fished a Schrade-Walden Uncle Henry 227UH out of the bay a little while ago.
The buy-it-now was low enough, so, I just snagged it.
It doesn't look too good in the pics but it has stainless steel blades and they should clean up OK.
Blades look full and the secondary blade looks unused.

I managed to snag this nice Schrade 858 from the bay. It’s in really great shape with full blades and minimal sharpening damage.

Thanks Mike,
Yes, at some point it'll get a nice set of amber jigged bone handles.

peanut740 wrote: Thu Oct 14, 2021 6:28 pm Picked up this interesting Schrade Walden 861 stockman. This knife came from a group several years ago from the Schrade factory collection. It's an early Walden as all 3 blades are stamped. It has the typical milled liners, but also has fancy worked backsprings. It also has an E stamped before the 861 pattern #, and was stamped separately. Also 12 cents was inked on the back.I sent pictures to Eric snd discussed this knife. He said the backspring work was called "engine turning", and hadn't seen it before but knew of it.He speculated that it was a factory prototype of some kind.

Quite a find Roger. Very interesting knife.

A little tarnish on a couple of blades but not too bad.

Thanks to Roger added another sheepsfoot jack to the collection, a nice early Schrade Walden, no pattern number, looks to have had little use and may have factory edges.
