Show Your Old Timer Variants

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

I wonder just how many variants of the 4 inch Schrade stockman there are. Maybe a thousand, if one counts the little things. I managed to come up with some actual bad photos of my Primble 935 to replace my bad scan above. This knife should date to 1959 to 1961, I think. The bone is really lovely in person. Absolutely mint throughout and available. I mentioned to someone earlier that the clip blade swedge suggests a possible affiliation with the Ulster facility. I have been watching since 2007 and have seen only one other of these.

I finally found myself an Old Crafty Barlow.
I believe it will clean up nicely. Blades look full.
