Schrade Pocket Dump!!

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

Love them schrades, whether strictly collecting or carrying for use.

Worth bragging on. Meanwhile, I am jealous of the shorts. We in Wyoming are not there yet.

A great knife.

Today I have a simple but good schrade. Those bone handles are more pretty but these handles don’t break.

Speaking of breaking, where can I get a bumper sticker that says "I brake for Schrades." ?

Meanwhile, I have been carrying this #5 by Herman Williams some days.

Besides his knives, I really miss Herman; I talked to him a few times on the phone. A good man. A pocket dump doesn't really work for me as I change clothes sometimes more than once a day, from cycling to gardening to going somewhere. I keep a fanny pack with every item known to man, including sometimes up to four knives. There are various keys hanging up in many places. My pockets might have rocks or samples of plants to check out later and a firearm or two. Hopefully no small animals, but ya never know.

One of my all-time favorite knives! A 34OT with that tang stamp just rotated out of my pocket, replaced by the knife below. Since I now have a nice one with the tin, and this one was previously carried (it had a lot of pocket lint built up when I got it), it's now a regular carrier.

You are right about that garddogg.

That’s a great carry knife Dan. The 100th anniversary shield is neat.

Century-series CN71 Gemini. Not made by Schrade, but marketed by them from 1993-1999, and tang stamped "ISC STAINLESS GERMANY". These were actually made by Adler in Germany. They are very simliar to Victorinox, and some parts will interchange. Before this knife was sold to me, toothpick and tweezers were replaced with Victorinox versions. Scales are interchangeable as well. But, the Adlers are built slightly thicker and heavier, and just slightly below Victorinox quality. This model is identical to the Camper, but about 25% heavier.

Found this one a while back.
Poor guy had a chunk of bone missing and a pretty bad crack.
Blades pretty full and good snap.

Clip blade was tipped. So I gave it a shark tooth point.
