The schrade 3 3/8" junior cattle knife.

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

Paul, you sure have a nice collection of these great little knives, others have shown some great knives also.

Picked up my first one a couple weeks ago, nice bone and full blades but corrosion from age. What really impressed me is how compact they are, lot of blade in a small package. Last pic shows it next to a Schrade Cut Co single spey Barlow.

This is one knife I managed to hang onto. It is not a Schrade, but rather a Craftsman Sta-Sharp 9518. I always admired the Jr. Stockman pattern. Surprising that it fell out of favor from most knifemakers lines. One of many favorite knives I've owned. Not sure how old this one is, but likely made by Camillus in the 1950's. I've posted it a few times but here it is again.

I have two knives that have JACK KNIFE BEN HANDY DANDY JR. etched on the blade. One is tang stamped SCHRADE WALDEN N.Y. , but no numbers, the other one is not tang stamped but the back side has 0302 stamped. Is the 0302 a SCHRADE number?

0302 is not a schrade number. Nice pair of knives, that blade configuration was not shown in any of the walden catalogs.

Old Jack Knife Ben sold a lot of knives at Union Stock Yards in Chicago. Maybe he could ask for a special blade set up. I have 7 in that pattern and a few in other styles. He sold knives at the stock yards for over 50 years. The old ones were made for him at NAPANOCH, then Winchester and all the way to SCHRADE.

As an atheist, I don't see any gods looking to punish me eternally for liking a knife. ::facepalm:: As an honorable man, I do not steal. No forgiveness desired or required!

Frankly, any belief system that sees the End of The World as a good thing is leading humanity in the wrong direction. I expect folks want to hear about my religious beliefs about as much as I want to hear theirs. That would be zero interest.

I suggest at least 48 hours of self-flagellation to atone for looking at this Cattle Knife. ::tu::
