Herman Williams 863 with Stag handles
Herman Williams 863 with Stag handles
Fished this one out of the bay. A Herman Williams Schrade 863. He covered this one with his classic red bone stag handles. I confirmed with him that it was indeed one of his knives. A gentleman and a craftsman.

Floyd, that is a work of art. Have you moved on from the bulldog ivory??? If so, maybe I can snag one now.

Floyd I must disagree with you on your description of Herman Williams as a craftsman. He's more than that, he's a cutlery artist.
That knife is a fine example of his work and what sets him a notch above most others.

Tony, I still like the Ivory Bulldogs but just haven't seen any of the ones I don't have lately. Seems like they come in spurts. And these 863's just kinda sprung up and resistance was low. Thanks.
Thanks Dale.
Phil, I bow to your wisdom and agree whole heartedly. He has a couple in his ebay store but not 863's. I think I saw a King Ranch stockman and a muskrat. Both beautiful. He is certainly a gentleman too confirming for me that this was one of his. Thanks.
Thanks Dale.

Had Mr. Williams do one for me about three years ago. I share your enthusiasm for his work.

Absolutely beautiful Jerry. Some knives I own and some knives I am privileged to own. Mr. Williams knives fall into that 2nd category.
Proud for you on that one.
