2004 Schrade Prototypes
2004 Schrade Prototypes
Here are a couple of prototypes that were handmade by D' himself. In 2004 Schrade asked D'Holder to come up with some concepts for a neck knife collaboration. These two protos were sent to a design engineer at Schrade who was working with D'Holder and Schrade management right up until the day he went in and was told the company had closed down. They were given a little time to grab what they needed and leave the premises. That's how these two knives found their way out of the building. *Added bonus - they came with handwritten letters that D' wrote to the Schrade engineer.

Re: 2004 Schrade Prototypes
I didn't want to drop your name in the post before I knew if you were ok with that. So now I can say thank you Cal for pointing me in the right direction! I PM'd you some bonus paperwork which I couldn't post because of personal info on it.

No prob. Always nice to see things going the way they should. If you see an arch stamp MOP 4 1/4 inch Schrade CutCo stockman with 4 blades and milled liners, let me know.

This one is getting closer!
Re: 2004 Schrade Prototypes

That seller dumped two knives for a nickel on the dollar, not including the ones we are talking about here. I would have given two of my smaller fingers and one reproductive gland for what he gave away. I was a few minutes late to the party. Someone is feeling really good about things right now. Well.... I still have my money.

I've never seen one of those 4 blade stockmans - great looking knife . MOTS doesn't even come close. I did see the other two knives too and missing out on them stings quite a bit. I'm sure you saw who made them for him.

Great, fabulous, amazing knives and I can't even put them on a list to look for. Very happy for you.
Re: 2004 Schrade Prototypes
Congratulations Jason, you got some real pieces of history there.
I've never been a big fan of neck knives but that first one with the black handle I might even consider carrying. I would expect anything less from D'.

I don't collect or carry modern knives but I was thinking the same thing - it would be a great EDC.
Thanks
I couldn't do a neck knife but luckily he put a belt clip on the sheath to give another option for carrying it (not that I would ever carry this one, lol).
