Possible "end of days" knife?

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

Possible "end of days" knife?

Post by Dan In MI »

I recently came across this one:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/265230436141

Per the guide written by Orvet, at least one 97OT is known to have escaped with a single clip blade and Uncle Henry covers. My hopeful side tells me the knife in the link could be an "end of days" knife. However, my pragmatic side says there are some doubts; namely, the knife has neither pick nor tweezers (nor evidence of having had them) as a 97OT should, and the pins look a little off.

What do y'all think? Did this one leave a Schrade factory like that, or has it been altered?

Pictures are from the listing, of course.

Thanks, Grant. It's officially tempting now.

Yep, I agree.... looks factory made.

I had that one on my watch list but I will bow out to you. I hope you can land that one for your collection.

We'll see...but go ahead and put a bid in anyway! Bidding might go over my comfort level, or I may forget about it.
