Wording on Etch

Post by keithw »

Has anyone noticed that the newer style etches say "Hammered Forged"
instead of "Hammer Forged", like the old etches? ::uc::

I guess some things get lost in translation (see below) ::facepalm::

Keith,
Several of the old etches read 'Hammered Forged". I believe that the newer ones just tried to duplicate the old error, if we can call it that.
I'll try to post a photo of one of the old ones.

Thanks Ray,

I hadn't noticed that before.

Hmmm,
Maybe you should send me those two beauties
for a closer examination ::drool::

This is an older thread I just found. It´s just coincidence but a few days ago I bought a Schlieper Muskrat knife and saw the etching on the blade. ::facepalm:: Ok, I am used to the "funny English" of my fellow countrymen and after all the japanese are much better at embarassing "English". Allthough, "...perfect hand job, then as now...." is very close! :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

Don't know that there is a "perfect hand job" ::woot:: Guess it has a lot to do with the finish ::ds::
