Old German Eye...pearl 1/2-congress

Post by prairiedog »

Generally not the biggest fan of pearl..but this is an older Eye....and I dig it! Straight-line stamp, pinched bolsters and the etching isn't faded. Finding it made my day! ::groove::

I like pearl handles as much as anything. That's a nice one there!
If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.

Thanks btrwtr ::handshake:: don't get me wrong, I like the looks of pearl...and I really like this knife in particular...but generally, I'm stag at heart. The more I look at this knife though...the more I like it!

I bought a half congress that looks like this one, but it has Pearlex handles.
I'd like to run across one with genuine pearl handles, I'm jealous. ::drool::

Thanks Keith ::handshake:: how close does this pearlex look like real pearl...I mean, I'm almost positive this is m.o.p...but I've been wrong before. Quite often too say the least! ::dang:: I'll see if I can take a better pic.

HiPower is right. A pearl handled knife is about the hardest to get right in a photo.

Thanks for looking paladin and hi power...and I don't believe my photos do the knife justice. It looks better in hand. I tried several pics and I agree...pearl is difficult in capturing the fire in the pearl.
Hipower, that trapper is a dandy...I want one just like it! ::tu::

Mine is pretty easy to tell that its not real pearl, but I can't say about other knives.
No matter how you turn mine to the light, you don't get any of the "fire" that you see from real MOP.
