Need help with this eye

Post by Jporter1974 »

I need help with dating this eye, everything that I've seen for comparison never says how old it is and they're all 3 or 3 and a half inches long and this one is 4 and one eighth inches long. I've added some photos

Now that the stamp is visible I can say that this is a 3 Eye knife dating from the early to mid-1970s up to 1981. The carbon steel on these knives was the best around.
I won't get so carried away on this one but I do love those old Eyes. ::tu::

Jporter, as future reference, at one time (50's - 70's) the Eye Brand stockman pattern was offered in knives ranging from 2/5/8 inches up to a large 5 1/2 inch model. Paladin is the man on the dates. This is a nice one to pack away and enjoy for a long time.
