What do they call these

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

What do they call these

Post by MadeinUSA »

I’m on the hunt for more case knifes that may have the * USA * on the bolster… (like one in pic below)

Is there a style or type that I can search for that would indicate the knife has such?

I call that a “stamped bolster”. Others may have a different name for it. ::shrug:: Try calling or sending emails to Case, Shepherd Hills, SMKW, etc and asking if they have any - long shot at best. Is there a factory label on any boxes you have? If so there may be some info there that would tell what you could chase after. Looks like they were made in mid-2010s, shields are Case oval long-tailed C with American flag background.

I think Ken had the right idea of asking Case, Shepherd Hills, and SMKW for more information.

If they don't have a definitive answer, it's going to take a lot of slow, methodical searches. I would start here:

1. Sooner State Knives-Oklahoma.
2. Case Knife Outlet-Alabama.

Both stores have a huge selection of Case knives. Hope this helps. (FYI: I have no affiliation to either place).
