Trapper

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Nice find and in Stag too. Is it correct to assume it's a 54 (full size)?

Mike, Thanks for the heads up. It is a 5254, 1976 4 dot. Had a dot kinda hidden, you knew by the gray etch.

Great stag!

I've long doubted the wisdom of blade etches that will not be relevant after a little use and resharpening but the razor edge etch has yet to stop me from buying. The P in the tang stamp sufix SSP means polish edges so it is equally questionable. SSP meant stainless steel springs and blades and better honed or stropped edges. The P is occasionally said to mean polished blades but many 1970's stainless knives with satin blades are stamped SSP.

54 v. 07 is quickly answered by looking at the location of the nail nick. That also separates 07s from other brands' Mini-Ts.

Thanks. I didn't know nor notice that.

For comparison's sake.
