I'll agree with Q and edge213, a good one!
The stamp matches up with Knifeaholics' info, pg. 17 of his 1st book showing the full stamp and with an explanation-"this variation is the long tail C often used on larger knives."
What a fine-looking old Case!

That is a beautiful knife Mike, those bone handles are fantastic, love that old Case green bone. No one else has been able to duplicate it, so unique.Desert Golfer wrote: ↑Sun Oct 02, 2022 2:50 pm Picked up this Case Tested Folding Hunter yesterday at an Arizona Gun Show. Re: Newest Case Pick-Ups
Very recently, this pocket knife arrived and it now becomes the latest example to join this topic or thread and to join my general pocket knife collection. It came in a very large group or lot of pocket knives that I bought. I was happy to discover it, but I did not buy the group or lot for this particular pocket knife. It is a (1987) CASE XX, 41059 L SSP, one blade, two tang stamps, 3" closed, advertising or commemorative pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says "CASE XX (over) SS with 3 dots (over) USA" The main blade back tang stamp says "41059 L (over) SSP" The main handle side says "75th Anniversary of Auto Automation - 1912-FIRST AUTO ASSEMBLY LINE" and the other handle side says "HASTINGS (with an arrow through it) - graphics of a car being assembled - CASITE (inside an oval)" Even with three very tiny handle cracks, it is in VERY GOOD condition. The blade has good opening and closing snap with no wobble at all. This pocket knife needed absolutely no cleaning at all. I took some pictures and here it is.

Re: Newest Case Pick-Ups
Nice find, Skip. Cool little collectible knife.
My newest Case pick-up comes from the same era but is a different pattern. This 1988 G6107 Mini Trapper has "modern" Greenbone covers (hence the "G" in the pattern number), which clearly is nothing like the pre-1980s Case Greenbone that is so popular and sought after by collectors (myself included). Nevertheless, this knife is in mint condition with original factory edge and surprisingly good snap. I suspect that the "529" stamped on the mark side pivot bolster indicates it is from a limited run, although I have no idea exactly how many knives were produced in the run (probably a lot as per usual for Case knives from this era). It has the raised-letter oval shield.

Re: Newest Case Pick-Ups
Another day, another Mini Trapper! This one is from 1978, right near the end of the era when Case was still making knives with a gator snap, i.e., the good ol' days! This one is similar to my very first Case knife: a 1975 Brown Bone (or possibly Delrin, I wouldn't have known the difference back then) 6207 Mini Trapper. I think that was the beginning of my love affair with pocket knives and Mini Trappers in particular (sentimental old fool that I am )

I really like the color of the 1978-79 bone handles.

Found this 6318 at a estate sale. It has a serrated sheepfoot blade. Lid was missing for the tin. I thought the bone looks pretty nice.

Great bones on that 78 Q!
Nice score Buck Casey! That's a real beauty!
Here is my newest addition to my humble collection of Case knives. Always wanted one with a Tractor Supply shield. Finally got my hands on one of them. This one is from Mark - SSK.
Now I need one with a Carhartt shield. LOL!
Thanks for looking friends!

Nothing beats ivory and on that scrolled bolster sowbelly it's just as classy as can be. Sweet score, Barry.
Nice pick up, Tom. First Olive Green Stockman I've seen with the TS shield (one of my personal favorite Case shields).
BTW, I've seen it called a "Barn", a "Cabin" and a "Shed" shield...so, take your pick!

Re: Newest Case Pick-Ups
The larger Case is a new pick-up with some repair needed before carrying. It is perfect for EDC as it is a true "User". The smaller one was a gift from my father when I was a boy in the 70's. It was the first pocketknife I owned. I carried it all the time when I was a bratty 'lil kid. Somehow, after all these years I still have it... which seems like a minor miracle by itself

Two fine looking Case knives, very cool that you still have the one from when you were a kid.

Re: Newest Case Pick-Ups
Well, now you get to carry it as a big bratty adult!!! Sure wish I still had my very first knife, but alas, I don't have the slightest recollection of what happened to it after I moved on to other newer & shinier knives.GSPTOPDOG wrote: ↑Tue Dec 06, 2022 11:00 pm The smaller one was a gift from my father when I was a boy in the 70's.
