Newest Case Pick-Ups

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Great looking knives, gsmith, and interesting jigging on the Rough Rider. ::tu:: ::tu::

I'm loving the Case display/folder. Mine had some kind of dust on it but it came off easily. I got a Rough Rider gents lock-back and a Kershaw with the Case and Oil Fields Jack purchases, and the hat.

Picked up a Case 63090 (I believe it is called an equal end utility or cigar stockman) for $20 at a gun show this weekend. I also picked up a Case XX barlow that I first thought was a 'fake' but for $10 I was willing to take a chance. What was giving me trouble was the layout of the two blades. With the clip blade being on the pile side, I thought it was a fake, but then I saw several on 'flea-bay' with the same blade placement. Looks to be a circa 1950-1965 knife.

One more from the CCC, limited edition Barlow in smooth natural bone, laser etched on the mark side and I believe the name etched on the blade is the new person running the CCC now that Lisa Bose Miller moved on.

Those -02 1/2s are nice EDCs, Tom, and big enough to get most jobs done. I have been carrying a USA era one to work daily for a few years now. I guess you could say it's my Office Knife.

I'm not John, but I am pretty sure it means 1965 - 1969. In that period, the Case tang read, "Case XX USA" with no dots.

The "XX era" would be 1940ish - 1964ish.
The "Tested" era 1920ish -1940ish.

Edit to say I THINK the info above is right, but don't bet your house on it. I'm often wrong! (but rarely in doubt)
