Nice, Dimitri! I always thought that huge spey blade would be great for spreading butter on toast.
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

Re: what is the rarest case knife you have??
Quick question for the group about the 6375 I posted yesterday. The pins, bolsters and liners are not brass. I know brass was not used during WWII, but I think this knife was likely manufactured in the early Tested era because of the circle C on the shield. Was it normal for early Case Tested knives to NOT use brass?

I think my rarest knife is this 1971 Hawbaker's special Muskrat that was in my grandfathers collection.

Re: what is the rarest case knife you have??
Brass was used by Case for liners on many patterns, but Case used nickel silver for liners on their higher end knives, including 3-blade stockman patterns like the 75, 18, 27, 47, and 92, and most other 3-blade patterns. These were classified as “premium” patterns. This practice continued through the XX era and into the 1970s. Very rarely do you see a knife having nickel silver liners without also having matching nickel silver pins. Nickel silver has been the standard bolster material since the early TESTED XX days except fir during WWII when iron bolsters were commonly used. Exception is the Daddy Barlow pattern which was made with iron bolsters.buckshot22 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 10, 2022 6:08 pm Quick question for the group about the 6375 I posted yesterday. 3 of my favorite
I’d say the Winterbottom is the rarest, the toe isn’t very rare as I’ve seen 20-30 over the years but it’s rare to me because of the condition be rather good and full. The 3 blade cigar is certainly rare and one of my favorite

All saddlehorns are rare in my world, and especially the Case one you posted. Very nice and definitely on my dream list.___DaveMiller Bro's wrote: ↑Sat Jan 15, 2022 10:00 pm Don't know how rare this one is but I'll throw it in this thread anyway
