Awesome find Tom!!! Congrats on that one!!TPK wrote: ↑Thu May 27, 2021 7:39 pm Cool knives everyone!
And a nice save Herb! Love it when old knives get "Reborn"!
Came across this Tested XX the other day on eBay. Got lucky on it. Offered the guy €40 ($49) with shipping and he accepted my offer. Made him an offer on another nice knife today. See if I get lucky again.
Anyways, it's a 3 3/8" Torpedo Jack with Gum-Fuddy handles. Ken said it's probably a 6214 1/2. Thanks for the Info Ken. It has some blade ware but other than that, it's in pretty good condition. Good SNAP & solid half stops. Handles are in great shape. Pins look good. Need a little cleaning but that's part of the fun sometimes. I kinda enjoy doing some cleaning.
Thanks for looking friends!

I obtained this back in January.
It was one of my "Holy Grail" pocket knives.
It measures 3 1/8" closed.

Very nice Skip, and one I would indeed classify as rare.

Its not minty but I don't see many others. Still tight and snaps hard on all 4.

Nice find! I agree, from what I see it’s stag. You didn’t show the pile side, seeing that might confirm.wornoutwrench wrote: ↑Tue Jun 01, 2021 6:55 pm Its not minty but I don't see many others. Still tight and snaps hard on all 4.

Not very often seen Case Winterbottom. Don’t think I’ve ever seen a ‘91 with a spay secondary.

Thanks for the pile side picture. I’m still thinking it’s stag. And still impressed!

What do you see that differentiates Winterbottom from stag like this?

Re: what is the rarest case knife you have??
Winterbottom usually has some jigging marks in the bottom and/or along the sides of the grooves, where the jigging machinery cut the grooves. The grooves are typically not smooth like stag (unless it’s second cut stag which also has grooves cut in it). You can search here on AAPK for Winterbottom and see examples for comparison.wornoutwrench wrote: ↑Sat Jun 05, 2021 1:12 am What do you see that differentiates Winterbottom from stag like this?

Nice knife Larry, wish you still owned it. Actually I believe the other one looks Winterbottom to me. A lot of time Winterbottom sometimes gets worn through the years and loses most of the worm groove. Be easier to tell for sure if it was in hand of course.
