Do YOU have a CASE XX knife in YOUR pocket today?????

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Finally found my Eisenhower--a Delrin 1981 in stainless.

The high heat and humidity lately (past few days have been really mild) have made me switch to stainless steel, and normally, especially with highly polished and/or dark patina blades, I don't have that problem.

You have a lot to answer for my friend, and we need to sit down and have a stern talk. I have stopped purchasing knives, have more than i need and they have gotten so expensive, and i fear there may be hard times ahead. But when you posted your beautiful little 6137 you got my juices going. There was one i was looking at a while ago and thought it would have been gone by now, but alas it's still available. Now i have a decision to make. ::dang:: ::dang:: ::dang:: But there is one good thing, unlike GEC which are near impossible to get, and you just grab what you can, this is like purchasing the good old fashioned way, you can decide at your leisure.

Glad you liked that one! ::handshake::

As far as purchasing, there are good arguments both for and against. I recall you saying Case has stopped selling to Australia; is that true? International shipping has gotten very expensive (just like everything else). But then again, it might be your last shot at a new knife for a while. Just keep knife purchases in their proper place in the priority list. They should come after food, bills, fuel, and home/auto repairs...but before most everything else.

Here is the deal my friend. Case has a company policy that it won't let it's retail outlets sell to Australia, but there is one who was still selling and shipping here, don't know if they still are. There are a couple of Case sellers over here, but one is out of stock, don't know when he will be getting anymore, the other one has stock but is expensive, except for the amber peachseed sodbuster. Here are the figures adding to my dilemma.

Knife from America $57 US or $82 AUS. Plus postage- at least $30 AUS. Total at least $112 AUS if they will ship.

Knife from here $80 AUS or $55.50 US. Postage $21 AUS. Total $101 AUS.

2 things, this knife seems cheap here, and compared to the other bone soddies is cheap, they are all over $100 AUS, but i am getting shafted with the postage, should be $10 not $21.

I want the knife, but hate getting screwed with postage. ::mdm:: ::mdm:: ::mdm:: ::dang:: ::dang:: ::dang::
