Ode To The 07
Re: Ode To The 07
VERY NICE pile of 07s, Mr. KA1965. I see you have one in you pile that I've been searching for---2010 Stag 5207 with two-color (black & gold) blade etch and x·x·x· bolster stamps (center knife in 3rd photo).
All the others are nice, too, of course...but, now The Monkey is once again obsessed with finding that one...soooo, Thanks for that!

Spectacular Mini-Ts knifeaddict1967! I especially like the stag on your 5207D and your 5507. I wish Case would add _507s with the combination of blades in your 8507 to this year's vault release. Slimming them by eliminating their duplicate clip blade creating the first _407s would be even better.

Re: Ode To The 07
Thanks for the great feedback guys.
Q ,
I've heard the knife you are referring to as "coined bolsters" but haven't ever heard another name for this series, and I absolutely love the looks of them. They rarely come up for sale and when they do, it seems like they bring crazy money. I purchased a set of 5 a while back (all different patterns pictured below).
Like we discussed in a previous thread, it seems to get harder and harder to let go of our beautiful stag knives, but I may make an exception since I know you have an affection for mini trappers. I just recently got a gold tier membership and was thinking about selling a few knives on here after the new year. If you don't have any luck finding one, feel free to send me a PM if you have an equitable trade or would like to make an offer on this knife. Take all the time you need if you are interested, as this knife will otherwise not be getting listed or sold.

Before you jump check out how deep the pond is. Did it again. Bought one I already had. It's a good thing it's one that I really like and it's a good thing I got it at a reasonable price.

Well there's nothing wrong that trading for something that you do not have won't fix.

Nothing wrong with having a duplicate or two in your pile, jerryd...that's just your inner Mini-T Monkey expressing himself. (And I've found that it's generally best to hearken unto The Monkey.) Fortunately, your Monkey has good taste!jerryd6818 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 4:53 pm Before you jump check out how deep the pond is. Did it again. Bought one I already had. Re: Ode To The 07
Thanks for the comments fellers. Reading the last couple of posts, it suddenly hit me, I have over a dozen Camillus #14's so why get my undies in a bunch over one replicated Case 07.

Re: Ode To The 07
Had a very interesting & successful trade with knifeaddict1965 that netted me this sweet 5207 with the super cool, black & gold blade etch and stamped bolsters. (Notice that the blade etch and bolster stamping show the five "X" and five "dot" date pattern for 2010.) I love this knife and had been searching for one for quite some time, so I am extremely grateful to ka1965 for making the trade. Thanks again, my friend...I know how difficult it is to let go of any stag knives, and this one is especially nice, so I sincerely appreciate it.

Re: Ode To The 07
But wait...there's more...
In keeping with the spirit of the season and with the supreme generosity of a seasoned knife swapper, knifeaddict1965 also included this (unexpected but much appreciated) Fire Engine Red Delrin 6107(W) in the trade.
Although this is not my first one of this model, I was fascinated (once again) by the fact that the pattern number tang stamp does not have a "W" suffix as is customary on Case knives with a Wharncliffe blade. I have seen some knives of this pattern that have the "W" in the tang stamp, but they seem to be more of the exception to the rule with this particular model for some reason that so far no one has been able to explain to my satisfaction. Very curious anomaly, indeed.

Re: Ode To The 07
I'm glad your happy with you new additions Q. That beautiful 5207 is right where it belongs with your amazing collection of stags & mini Ts. I figured you probably had the 6107(W), but I couldn't think of a better place to send a wharncliffe mini trapper and now you don't have to worry about losing it if you add it to your EDC rotation or choose to use it in a future trade with another of our wharncliffe loving members.
Now for my newly acquired items from this trade that I was thrilled to receive in the mail today.
First is that amazing 2021 AAPK GEC #86 that has a beautiful fit and finish. This is the first GEC in my collection, but I'm sure it won't be the last and I now understand why there is so much demand for these high quality knives. Then, of course Q had to generously throw in a couple extra unexpected surprises as well - A little Schrade Old Timer with checkered wood handles and a great set of stag points for displaying my knives. Unfortunately, I don't have time to get pictures right now, but I appreciate the trade my friend and if you are ever in the hunt for any other Case knives, don't hesitate to reach out.
I haven't been an active member here for long and this was my first trade on the forum and it was a great experience. Just want to let everyone know I appreciate all the great information I've learned here and the amazing pictures of everyone's wonderful knives. It seems like every time I log on, I learn something new and see pictures of knives I've never seen before, and that is what makes this such a great site.
Thanks again Q, and I look forward to learning more and continuing to add to the accumulation.

Re: Ode To The 07
Looks like The Monkey is back to his usual hijinks getting duplicates of knives I already have. Fortunately, I can never have too many _107Ws, and this 2010 Gray Jigged Bone 6107W is not particularly common (at least not for sale on eBay).

That is two good Q. Definitely not two bad.
Re: Ode To The 07
Another beautiful knife Q. You just keep rocking the mini Ts and making great surfing material. Congrats on another beauty as yours always seem to be. Killing it. You'll keep Case in business yourself even if everyone else quit buying, which they won't. Rock on blade brother. Rooooooooock on.

Mahalo, amigos...you're all officially enablers and contributors to the delinquency of The Monkey!!! (And I appreciate it )
Here's the latest 07 to join the bottomless Mini-T pit (or is it a topless Mini-T pile?). Well, topless or bottomless, either way at least it's not a duplicate, although you may recognize the two-color (black & gold) blade etch which is one of my faves and the same etch as is on the 2010 5207 above that I recently acquired from Kevin (knifeaddict1965). I'm not a fan of Yellow Delrin covers, but I think the embellishments really add to the visual appeal of this otherwise plain jane 3207. Also, while I really couldn't care less about serial numbers, if a knife absolutely has to have one, it's hard to get a cooler one than this. (BTW--the blades on this 3207 are SS, not CV).

Re: Ode To The 07
Congrats Q, I saw that knife or one similar to it on eBay a week or so ago and was going to send you a message, but there was only a couple minutes left in the auction when I saw it. Looks like you may have been the lucky winner.
I'm not a big fan of the synthetic handles either, but that one will look great with it's stag counterpart.

Still have a bad Case of Stag fever...so, naturally, I had to add this 2013 Prime Stag 5207 to the herd (hopefully it will provide some temporary relief---if not for the "fever" then at least for my wallet! )
