Re: Ode To The 07
I just have the one 6307 and have no desire for more. I also have no desire to own a "Beast" especially at the prices they go for. All that said, I may have to snag one of those tang stamp history handle 07's. Monkey see, monkey do ya know. Where did you get yours?

I first saw the Case "50th Anniversary Dot Dating System" SMKW SFO in one of their early 2020 catalogs.jerryd6818 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 13, 2021 1:00 pm I may have to snag one of those tang stamp history handle 07's. Monkey see, monkey do ya know. Where did you get yours?

I really liked it, but, unfortunately, there were no 07 patterns in that run.
Then, I just happened to stumble upon a 6207 with similar handles in Matthew Sander's AAPK store and I bought it. The date stamp on my 6207 shows 2006, and the tang stamps etched on the handle are actually from Case's earliest years going back over 100 yrs to pre-1920. So, naturally I then had to buy the display stand with the more modern tang stamps on it because...well...OCD Mini-T Monkey insisted. (You know how it is with Mini-T Monkey: monkey see, monkey want--and poor ol' ~Q~ has to buy it)

They're here and on time. In my eye, good purchase. I like the basket weave better than I thought I would.

I like both those Cuz, but that slant bolster with the green scales is right snazzy!

Re: Ode To The 07
Seems my two Limited Edition Autumn Second Cut Bone 07's are breeding in captivity and spontaneously produced these two which do not have the Limited Edition blade etch. Curiously, one of the new offspring has an unusually narrow master clip blade. The knife does not appear to have ever been used, so I wonder if the narrow blade was actually made this way at the factory (perhaps by a novice cutler who went a bit overboard on the grinder) and somehow managed to slip past QC. Or, maybe it's actually a Muskrat blade that inadvertently got put on a Mini Trapper.

Doesn't matter to me ~Q~, I like the slimmer blades.
This one showed up in the mailbox today. Used a smidgen and a little on the drab side but it's genuine deer stag handles so for me, it all balances out. Made in 1990. Geez Louise, 30 years old. Where did the time go?

Re: Ode To The 07
I'm not sure about that blade. Maybe on the settings being off on the final grinding? I don't think it is a Muskrat blade. Yours does not have a choil cut before the kick. The Muskrat does. The only difference usually between the blades of a Muskrat is the left blade usually has a less or no fitment on the kick, where as the right blade usually has more fitting or grind on the kick.QTCut5 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 11, 2021 7:04 pm Seems my two Limited Edition Autumn Second Cut Bone 07's are breeding in captivity and spontaneously produced these two which do not have the Limited Edition blade etch. Re: Ode To The 07
Last month my wife asked me how much longer I planned to collect knives.
I told her I planned to keep collecting knives until the cows come home.
Hopefully, this knife doesn't represent some kind of self-fulfilling prophecy.
I sure would hate to be the one to break the news to Mini-T Monkey.

Found this hiding in a knife roll. I have a few of the newer 07 but I still like the original pattern the best.

Nice color on that one, Potechop. Don't see a lot of Brown Bone on the pre-1970 6207s and yours is especially nice...Beauty!
