Case Terminology
Case Terminology
I have heard the term “Case Swamp Rat” knife tossed around in forums. What exactly is the swamp rat a specific pattern or a collectors nickname for a certain pattern? Thanks.

Re: Case Terminology
Not a term I've ever heard. I did a search on the Case Collectors Club forum - nothing there either.
There is a Swamp Rat Knife made by another company unrelated to Case. See Google for more info.

Re: Case Terminology
Can't say I've ever heard the term, either.
At least not related to Case.

That's what we call those who hoard Case knives... Case Swamp Rats.

Re: Case Terminology
Not specific to Case, rat is short for Muskrat which Case has made a lot of in three sizes. I'll risk two guesses. Either the writer using swamp rat does not like Muskrats in general or it might refer to a bone dye color.
Re: Case Terminology
I don't know, but I have seen the name Swamp Rat used for the 087 Stockman. Both 2 blade and 3 blade. I always thought it was a regional thing.
