Tested 6488 Congress

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Why is this such a desirable pattern? I've noticed in good shape, my '76 6488, even with being a Delrin knife, is an expensive knife, at least by my standards.

The 88 patten has always been the rarest and most desired for Case Collectors. Very few were made because of cost. You could buy a Jack Knife for couple bucks but a 4 Blade Congress would set you back half a week wage.

Looks like a nice knife, wouldn’t call it “near mint” though. Small blades show some wear. Those knives are Rare.
