Case E.O.

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Did Case make an Easy Opener like this?

::skeptic:: , ::shrug:: I see both a 6228 and 6235 mentioned with EO and green bone but the blades are reversed, the main blades are on the mark side.

I should add, not my knife, not bidding. Pictures added for future reference. 😉

The look of the primary blade bothers me a bit - both the shape, and the way too clean look of the tang stamp. But, I don't have to knife in hand to look at it closely and it could just be suspicious old me. ::hmm::

Whatever it is, it wasn’t made by Case. Possibly a contract knife. ::shrug:: More likely a fake. JMO. There was an EO version of the 35 pattern which is a cap bolster jack, but the 35 is 3-1/4 inches. The seller listing says the knife is 3-3/8. Other than the 35 pattern the only other Case EO’s I recall are barehead. Case didn’t make very many EO patterns.

Case's lack of EO's is what caught my attention, Ken. Plus the EO cut looks a little wonky to me, like it isn't deep enough and was done after the fact. Greatly appreciate your input!

The OP knife is a bad fake, most likely made out of an Imperial. This seller has several bad Case fakes listed.

Here is a 6235 EO, XX stamp. A quite rare knife.

Awesome knife, Steve!

The eBay knife looks like a NYKCo. frame to me, and I don't think the cutout is original. ::barf:: ::barf:: ::barf::
