Need help identify great uncles case knife.
Need help identify great uncles case knife.
The tang stamp dates knife from 1965-1969. The model number is 5392. The spring has been broken. There is no snap to the blades. The one blade appears to have been reshaped. My question is the model number indicates 3 blades. Is this possible or has a blade been removed. Closed the knife is 3 15/16”. Both blades are 2” long. This knife ,as well as his others that I have have been worked hard.

The answer is yes. It is possible the pattern was incorrectly stamped. However most likely a blade has been removed. Hard to tell given the condition but the pins look like they may be replacements.Tarpondoc wrote: ↑ My question is the model number indicates 3 blades. Is this possible or has a blade been removed?
I also have a couple of knives that belonged to uncles. Both have been used hard like yours. Wouldn't take anything for them, though I doubt anyone else would want them either. To me they are priceless as I'm sure yours are to you.

Thank you for your response. The knife is irreplaceable to both me and my son.
