Remington's RH Pattern Fixed Blade Knives

The Remington Corporation and the knives that they built have influenced the U.S. cutlery industry more than nearly any other manufacturer. From the time America was settled, to the end of WWI, American knife companies struggled to compete with Britain and German imports, but events that occurred during and after the First World War led to a great change in this phenomenon. Unprecedented opportunities arose, and Remington stepped up to seize the moment. In the process, they created some of today's most prized collectables. In an ironic twist, the next World War played the greatest role in ending the company’s domination of the industry.

Looks like an RH43 , numbers were inked on and wore off quickly .Originally 9" long overall with 4 1/2" flat grind blade .A fairly scarce knife.

Those are very nice. I will add a couple that are out of my dad’s collection that I just sent to my oldest son not sure if he has the bug.

The Rh38 my dad has written in his book no file marks. No air conditioning in his house not sure if that is where the rust came from. I am looking for a sheath and any recommendations on how to carefully clean the rust.
Thank you very much

More dandy knives! I would take some very fine steel wool and a bit of oil to the light rust. Others may have a better way.
