Remington knives with an etch

The Remington Corporation and the knives that they built have influenced the U.S. cutlery industry more than nearly any other manufacturer. From the time America was settled, to the end of WWI, American knife companies struggled to compete with Britain and German imports, but events that occurred during and after the First World War led to a great change in this phenomenon. Unprecedented opportunities arose, and Remington stepped up to seize the moment. In the process, they created some of today's most prized collectables. In an ironic twist, the next World War played the greatest role in ending the company’s domination of the industry.

Been awhile since I've been able to pick up a nice Remington, This R219 popped up the other day, appears to be very lightly used, unmolested, possibly factory edge. Etch is light and patter number weakly struck.

herbva rehandled and cleaned up this one for me, the silver celluloid was out-gassing and about ready to grenade this stockman. Herb even managed to keep about 2/3s of the etch while dealing with the rust/corrosion issues.

4", I think it is a R3065 or variant, great Remington UMC Made In USA blade stamps on all 3 blades but no visible pattern number. Acorn shield so you know there's a punch. It's now a nice EDC for me. ::super_happy::

*Herb's pictures except for the last one.

I'm normally not a fan of metal handled knives, but I like this one.

Thank you David, metal not my favorite either but this one has always appealed to me and have been looking for a nice one for quite some time, I do love easy opens with fat spears.

I picked up a couple of these this last year at an estate sale. I'm getting ready to put this one in my store. I do like the etches on these blades. Even though the etch is not really fancy I still think it looks good, especially on the trapper main blade.

Hope you enjoy the pictures! ::tu::

Thank you John. I do not have R2303. I wasn’t looking for this R2403, but couldn’t pass it up when I saw it. I do have the Case Tested XX 61214 1/2 and 61215 1/2 which are equivalent to the R2303 and R2403, respectively. Schrade also made the Case renditions.
John, I finally managed to find a R2303.
