Re: Where Are All The Remington Knife Collectors?
I’ve owned a fare number over the years and none have had etch. Also, old advertising material shows blades without etch. John

Great looking knife. I think they are a very classy knife. They came with round or square bolsters. Some have a match strike on one nail nick. I dont believe they came with an etch. Good find and thanks for showing us.

Nice knife Keith. Love the scales
Re: Where Are All The Remington Knife Collectors?
Keith, another wonderful Remington, you sure have some great Remingtons.
Picked up a R6163 half Congress, just over 3 3/4", close to full blades, tight with great snap but unfortunately been cleaned.

Thanks Keith! Great collection of Scouts, the box is awesome also, I would assume original Remington?

Re: Where Are All The Remington Knife Collectors?
Thanks to Keith espn77 I have a couple of new Remingtons in my pile. I bought a Remington R1773 2 blade easy open jack and had it made into a single blade for EDC purposes. I was surprised to find a nice R6463 also included in the box.
Re: Where Are All The Remington Knife Collectors?
Great looking knives Jerry, I like what you did to the easy open knife.
I'm a shield guy, and lucky for me Remington made a bunch of different styles. But I find that I'm drawn to this style. Not sure if it's the shield I like or the fact that most are equal end. Either way I like them.

Re: Where Are All The Remington Knife Collectors?
I do NOT collect Remington knives. However, I do collect Camillus 72 ( how appropriate, this is page 72) variations
and this Remington R14 whittler is a variation. Now to find the variations of this variation.

Re: Where Are All The Remington Knife Collectors?
Picked up a decent R1061 Jack, wood handles, found a price list listing as redwood but I would assume just another name for Cocobolo.
Re: Where Are All The Remington Knife Collectors?
An 8 would indicate cocobolo.
Nice knife johnr

Re: Where Are All The Remington Knife Collectors?
Thanks Keith. You actually helped me learn, went and found out about the Remington numbering system and a 1 does indicate redwood, does say it was mainly used on work knives so I guess it may be unusual on a jack.espn77 wrote:An 8 would indicate cocobolo.
