Remington's RH Pattern Fixed Blade Knives

The Remington Corporation and the knives that they built have influenced the U.S. cutlery industry more than nearly any other manufacturer. From the time America was settled, to the end of WWI, American knife companies struggled to compete with Britain and German imports, but events that occurred during and after the First World War led to a great change in this phenomenon. Unprecedented opportunities arose, and Remington stepped up to seize the moment. In the process, they created some of today's most prized collectables. In an ironic twist, the next World War played the greatest role in ending the company’s domination of the industry.

Remington's RH Pattern Fixed Blade Knives

Post by AREMINGTONSEDGE »

In a recent post/thread, Tongueriver mentioned we did not have a Remington thread specifically designated for the Remington RH pattern fixed blade knife. So... here we go! Many of us have posted Remington fixed blade knives in other threads but this would be a good place to repost those knives as a resource guide and pictorial log. I'll start it off with a few and will add as the thread develops. ::nod::

The first knife listed is the Remington RH38 with sheath and the second shown is Remington RH4a with sheath.

Ok fellers...who's next? ::tu:: I think it's ok to duplicate in our show and tell because each knife will differ in some way or another due to wear and tear or just the ebb and flow of oohhh say 90 or so years! LOL

I do have an extra RH-35 and an extra RH-38, but their condition is slightly down from the minty ones I showed. The RH-71 with the original box and this RH-29 are also available, perhaps. The only one I am really looking for is an RH-40 but I might have to sell my car to get one (if I ever even SEE one). :D

Awesome knives Wayne and tongueriver! Great condition! Here's a few more from my collection. The RH40 with original sheath. The RH6 with sheath and the RH405 with sheath and shaping stone. The Etching on the RH405 is plainly visible but the CAMPMASTER etching is only partially visible to the naked eye and with the angle of right lighting. ::tu::

Hey Mike! Love that RH204! I saw one on an auction site few months back with the green handle...I didn't pull on it because I'm looking for one that has an etch like yours. Hard to come by for sure. Looking for a nice or minty RH84 or an RH55. If ya see one give me a holler. Been thinking 'bout you lately, glade to see you post! ::tu:: ::nod::

That is a Remington RH22 Fish scaler with sheath. If you have Stewart and Ritchie's Remington Knives Past and Present...page 234 bottom right.

You are right and you are welcome Keith. What you may not see is the top and front of the blade are beveled and has sharp edges for cutting. ::nod::

Nice Dimitri. I got this box the other day. Maybe some one could show the knife that is supposed to go in it. I think it's kitchen cutlery???? Not sure. The pattern is F1632.

Thanks for posting guys! I have had RH4, RH4B, RH6, RH14, RH28, RH29, RH30, RH33, RH34, RH35, RH36, RH45, RH42, RH50, RH71, RH73, RH74, RH75, RH84, RH73, RH104, RH290, RH320, AND RH405. Maybe a few others that I can't recall. The good friend that I hunt with every year likes the fixed blades and I like the folders so I have given all the fixed blades to him over the years. Except a very nice RH36 that I made him buy. Getting hard to find other models so he has had to do without for a year or so. Wish I had taken photos.
