A couple of interesting whittlers. The pearl is a R6594 etched Wesson Company. The Bone Serpentine whittler has no pattern number.

Thefarside, That's a pretty interesting bone whittler knife you posted. I think it's a R7593. Remington didn't seem to use that style file blade on very many knives and when I look at the knife the long pull nail Nick is kind of short and close to the tang, making it a little difficult to open. Not a really high dollar knife but sure is a unique knife. And yours is really nice still having the etch. Mine isnt in near the condition.

I really like that style of manicure blade! Thanks for showing those. And first time I recall seeing that Wesson etch.
Another type of manicure blade on this R6554 with no etch.

Thanks for the comments on the etched knives I posted, I do have one correction to make - the Pearl Whittler with the Wesson etch is actually a R6534, sorry for any confusion.

BISSELL'S. Interesting history about them as I researched the knife. Started as a crockery shop and invented a sweeper to pick up sawdust. It was a fun read.

espn77 wrote:I was looking threw my C-5 catalog. Got to thinking. There are a lot of etched I've never seen before. From different scout knives, cattle knives, stockman knives, electrician knives. I'll post a fee pictures out of the catalog. Then some out of my collection. I'd love to see some of the different etched blades you guys have.

Lots of awesome knives in this thread!
Here's one in a bit rougher shape- the etching is hard to see, and secondary blade has a chip, but I like it none-the-less. R23CH

I don't look at a lot of PAL knives. But that the first etched one I've seen. Have you seen many?

That's a transitional knife, made by the Pal knife company, using parts they bought from the Remington Cutlery division after they shut down. I'd say it was made in or very close to 1941. I've got a couple of Pal etched, Remington tang stamped knives.
That is a nice one. ::tu::

Here's an etch which I'm not sure was made at the factory!!! I sent this one back, but kept pictures .

The second picture I believe is authentic , although this blade and knife are a mystery..

The third blade is the same as the second, the mystery blades. Etch is not very visible on it.

Your probably right for bring sceptical of the first etch. I've not seen a Remington etch that the Remington wasn't underlined.
