Do Remington 6823s exist?

The Remington Corporation and the knives that they built have influenced the U.S. cutlery industry more than nearly any other manufacturer. From the time America was settled, to the end of WWI, American knife companies struggled to compete with Britain and German imports, but events that occurred during and after the First World War led to a great change in this phenomenon. Unprecedented opportunities arose, and Remington stepped up to seize the moment. In the process, they created some of today's most prized collectables. In an ironic twist, the next World War played the greatest role in ending the company’s domination of the industry.

They do exist. I don't have one but have been looking for one. The humpback whittler is a very desireable pattern.

Awesome! I really want one. Did they not make many or did they just not survive?

I would assume the volume was low. I've seen 2 and wasn't in a position to pay for them. Your looking for a good one ::tu::

I had one in relic condition. I sold it at the Oregon Knife Show a few years ago. It is a weird pattern, and ungainly to use.

They are rare and I don't know why. The 6816 is a lock back whittler with stag covers and it is even more rare. In the meantime while I'm looking (and will look for a long time lol) I picked up this modern Schatt & Morgan humpback lockback whittler that resembles the Remington. This one goes into my pocket occasionally.
